Dear  Bluff  Member,
NEW “CLEAN UP YOUR ACT” CAMPAIGN - BET STRIVING for a MORE BEAUTIFUL BLUFF
The Bluff Enviro Team (BET) invites you to join our new “CLEAN UP YOUR ACT” campaign for the Bluff. As a BET member you can also help
distribute this e-mail far and wide among the Bluff Community and get others to join BET and our campaign.

BET is simply appealing to residents, businesses and property owners to clean and maintain the area around you.

If we all make an effort to clean up the area around our homes, business, school or church it will have a huge impact on the Bluff Environment.

Some of the things you can do to make a difference
  1. Pick up litter
  2. Cut the grass on your verge (and your neighbor’s if he never cuts it, show him that you care if he does not!)
  3. Clean and weed garden beds on your verge.
  4. Remove weeds from your road frontage and sweep the sidewalk and road gutter.
  5. Plant some flowers, attractive shrubs or a tree on your pavement.
BET makes a special appeal to all businesses to “Clean Up their ACT”. By this we are asking businesses to “go the extra mile” and clean up
all around their business premises. We know that it will have a positive impact on your business because no one likes shopping in a grubby
environment.  Some additional things businesses can do to make a difference.
  1. Place an attractive bin outside your premises for people to dispose of litter (and service the bin daily)
  2. Employ someone to sweep and litter pick around your business (or a group of businesses get together and employ someone)
  3. Get rid of clutter & old bits & pieces lying around that do not need to be there.
  4. Remove old out dated signs – upgrade your sign – did you know that by just changing your sign you can achieve over 100% increase in
    sales!
  5. Give your building a fresh coat of paint & clean your windows!
  6. Add some flowers, plants & greenery to your business street frontage.
  7. Sponsor a competition for the “best kept verge on the Bluff” (an example to follow is 260 Marine Drive, Pebble Cottage)  or sponsor a
competition for the “best kept business on the Bluff”
While we acknowledge the responsibility of the EThekwini Municipality to provide us with adequate service in our suburb, we as a community
need to do our bit as well! By participating in our campaign, and taking charge of your immediate road frontage, you will not only be
demonstrating a sense of pride and leadership in our community, but also positively impacting our environment too!

Let us join forces. Please support BET for a more beautiful Bluff!

Become a BET member by visiting our website and completing a membership form, pledging your support for a clean environment, or if you
have a business sponsor a prize so we can create competitions for "best kept" verge / business

We look forward to seeing a big change in the Bluff Environment by your participation.

Yours Environmentally
Bluff Enviro Team (BET)
